Mangalore, Jul 19: All College Students' Union and Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology (MIFT) organized "Say 'No' to Drugs" programme on the occasion of Anti Drugs Day at MIFT premises on Wednesday July 19 morning.

The programme was preceded by a motor bike rally by hundreds of students who paraded through the city roads holding banners, placards and shouting slogans about the deadly effects of drugs. 

The rally was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee vice-president Ivan D'Souza at Government College here on Wednesday morning.  Thereafter the students took a round to the city on mobikes.  The rally came to a halt at MIFT premises near Kankanady.

A valedictory ceremony of the programme was held at MIFT which was presided over by former Udupi MP Vinay Kumar Sorake.  Rajiv Gandhi Health University senate member delivered a lecture on importance of keeping oneself away from drugs.  The students were asked to keep a safe distance from drugs and were advised to "Stop Drugs to Live Long."

Vinay Kumar Sorake and Ivan D'Souza too spoke on the occasion.  Student representatives and office bearers of the ACSU too were present on the dais.
