New York, June 17 (IANS): In the growing world of military-use drones, here comes one that follows action sports and tracks your every move, recording it as it goes.
Designed by US-based Helico Aerospace Industries, the world's first "auto-follow action sports" drone has preset flight modes to track different sports - including surfing, motocross, wakeboarding and skateboarding.
Called Airdog, the drone can be fitted with a camera to capture high-definition footage.
The drone is linked to a wrist controller worn by its owners so it knows exactly where they are.
The AirDog has a flight time of up to 15 minutes and can reach a top speed of 64 km per hour.
It can take off and land automatically, and uses gyro stabilisation technology to ensure the subject is always in frame, media reports said.
"For action sports enthusiasts, this is a great technology to closely see their favourite players in action," the developers were quoted as saying.
