Rio de Janeiro, June 17 (IANS/EFE): Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli is studying Spanish players who will play against them at the Maracana Stadium here Wednesday.
The Colombian tactician, who is fond of studying rival teams, is watching videos of Spanish players to determine their playing style, reports EFE.
Sampaoli, who was mentored by Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa, hopes to surprise Spain after defeating Australia 3-1 in their first game. His assistants have prepared a huge dossier which includes Spain’s games and matches of Spanish players with their clubs.
Chile may change their playing style as Sampaoli is expected to tweak his starting list. The Colombian may push Eugenio Mena and Mauricio Isla alongside Marcelo Diaz and Charles Aranguiz.
The Chileans trained in Belo Horizonte Monday before heading to Rio de Janeiro.
