Fortaleza (Brazil), June 18 (IANS/EFE): Brazil striker Fred congratulated Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa for "the four miracles he achieved" to secure his net and ensure his side's goalless draw against the 'Seleçao' Tuesday.
Although Brazil were favourites to win at home, the Mexicans gave a good performance in an open game where both teams had many opportunities, the Brazilian said, reports EFE.
Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari tried to ease the frustration of the supporters by paying tribute to Mexico, saying that 'El Tricolour' played "a competitive game". He added that they are facing good teams and people should keep that in mind.
Another win would have carried Brazil to the Round of 16.
Brazilian football legend Pele said that his side was "suffering", adding that "the team played very well" despite not winning.
Brazilian defender David Luiz also expressed his satisfaction with the game and promised fans that they would qualify for the next round.
