Mangalore, Jul 21: After a respite from the torrential rains in the twin districts of Dakshina and Udupi, the Met Department has released a note of caution against heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.
While the river Netravati is overflowing near Adyar and the low-lying areas have been flooded.
The calamity control department, region commissioner A Srikant is expected to arrive in the district on Friday, Jul 21 and is likely to meet the district officials.
The district administration has also been asked to take precautionary measures to prepare for the rains. Strict vigil has also been suggested. Strong winds are likely to enter the region and thus fishermen are advised to refrain from fishing.
