Puttur, Jul 24: The federation of Stree Shakti organizations organized a huge protest rally here on Monday July 24 demanding the immediate arrest of Sattar, the prime accused in Tarigudde Akshata murder.
Hundreds of women who were present shouted slogans and demanded that Sattar should be arrested. Johra, president of block committee led the rally. Speaking on the occasion she said that women have been subject of harassment, atrocities these days. "Earlier it was somewhere else in the world. But now these things are taking place in our own backyard. Violence on women has been on the rise in our own taluk in the last couple of years," she said.
Former taluk panchayat member Vijaya Eshwara Gowda, advocate Harinakshi, Lokeshwar Vinaychandra, ZP member Anita Hemnath too spoke on the occasion.
