Canberra, June 25 (IANS): Australian striker Adam Taggart had some consolation for his team's elimination from the ongoing World Cup as he signed a three-year contract with English Championship side Fulham.
The 21-year-old was the top scorer in the A-League with 16 goals for the Newcastle Jets last season.
"I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter in my career with Fulham and working hard to take my game to another level," Xinhua quoted Taggart as saying Tuesday.
He made two appearances at the World Cup in Brazil where Australia lost all three Group B matches.
Fulham were relegated from the premier league last season after playing in the top-tier of English football since 2001-02.
