Udupi, Jul 25: A Hindu young man from Sagar who had come to the city with a Muslim woman has been kidnapped on Sunday July 23.
Tahira and Raghavendra alias Rajshekhar of Hosangady-Siddhapur had come to the city on Sunday July 22. As they were walking along the Mosque Road, a shopkeeper called them inside on suspicion. There they came to know that the duo were from different religions.
Tahira was asked to stay back in the shop while Raghavendra was kidnapped by a group of young men later.
As soon as the news spread in the city, leaders of several Hindu organizations gathered in front of the town police station and demanded the immediate arrest of persons who assaulted and kidnapped Raghavendra.
One Guruprasad has filed a case against Ahmed, Abubakkar, Sadhik, Ilias, Mustafa and Samshuddin in the town police station.
Meanwhile Tahira has been sent to her home. But there have been no news about Raghavendra.
In the meantime Hindu Yuva Sene Udupi unit has served an ultimatum to police to that they would lay siege to town police station on Tuesday July 25 morning, if Raghavendra is not traced by Monday night.
