Rio de Janeiro, June 27 (IANS/EFE): Colombian captain Mario Yepes said his team respects all rivals and praised two-time champions Uruguay's history and experience ahead of their Saturday pre-quarterfinal clash in the World Cup at the Maracana Stadium here.
"Uruguay has more history and experience than us, but we must build on what we have done and improve some things and try to cope with the match in the best way," Yepes was quoted as saying by EFE
"We meet again and Uruguay will be a tough opponent. We are now in the same level," the 38-year-old defender added.
Colombia and Uruguay are no strangers to each other. They met in the South American qualifications for the 2014 World Cup when Colombia defeated Uruguay 4-0 in Barranquilla, before losing in Montevideo 0-2.
