Sharm-el-Sheikh (Egypt), Jun 30 (IANS): India’s Pankaj Advani won his ninth World title when he annexed the IBSF 6 Reds World Championship snooker crown here Sunday, defeating Kacper Filipiak of Poland 6-1 in the final.
Earlier, Advani overwhelmed Mohsen Bukshashia (Qatar) 5-1 in the semi-finals after edging out Rodney Goggins of Ireland 5-4 in the previous round.
India drew blank in the other events as the Indian pair of Vidya Pillai and Amee Kamani came away with a bronze medal in the women’s team championship (15 Reds) while the men’s combinations finished empty handed, losing in the quarter-finals.
