Seven Indians raid office in UAE over denial of salaries

Dubai, July 2 (IANS): Seven expatriate Indians in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who were not paid their salaries for the past three months, raided their office and destroyed electronic equipment, a media report said.

The Indian suspects, identified only as G.S., B.S., S.S., M.S., B.S., H.Y. and A.Y., have been accused of attacking their Indian manager of a computer company and destroying two computers and other mobile items in the assault, The National reported Tuesday.

The prosecutors said the men were under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

During the proceedings at a criminal court in Abu Dhabi Tuesday, four of the defendants confessed to drinking alcohol, two confessed to attacking the manager and all denied destroying the company’s property.

The manager, who filed the charges, left the country after registering the complaint, the report said.

The verdict would be pronounced July 9.
