Abu Dhabi, July 29: Pernal parishioners residing in the U.A.E. came together in Abu Dhabi to be part of ‘Abu-Dubai Milan 2006’, a full day celebration held at Foodlands Party Hall in Abu Dhabi city.  The event was part of Famad Pernal’s spirit of unity celebrations being held on completion of five years of the Zamath’s formation in this part of the world.

This event was exclusively for Pernalites and the full day’s event included lots of entertainment stuff including a sumptuous buffet lunch.  Members of Abu Dhabi zone had organized the event, whereas the entertainment was conducted by Pokri Pernal and Rhythms, the in-house entertainment teams.  Asha and Dony Correa took charge of the proceedings with great flair and passion.

The event began with prayer led by Rita Lewis, secretary of Our Lady of Fatima Church Parish Council, who is on a private visit to Dubai. Anitha Mathias welcomed the gathering and praised the parishioners for their solid spirit of unity.  Dinesh Correa, president of the Zamath addressed the gathering and called upon all to continue showing their concern towards the parishioners.  Denis Correa, Fredrick D’Souza and Leena Cutinho, the guests of honour too spoke on the occasion.  Jacintha D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.

The entertainment session included filmi dances such as ‘Badi Mushkil’ from Lajja (performed by Divya Lewis) and ‘Dil Na Diya’ from Krrish (performed Alister and Alisha) and ‘Dil Dooba’ from Garama Masala (performed by Florence).  As usual some mind-blowing skits by Team Pokri Pernal were the main attraction of the event.  Also the John Barr Beauty Contest stole the hearts of the capital citizens.  Dony, Asha and Dinesh sang some nice Konkani songs too.

The event ended with non-stop bayla with the beauty pageants.  Speical transport arrangement was made for Pernalites from Dubai.
