Ghaziabad, July 3 (IANS): The Delhi Metro has started work on the 9.41-km stretch between Dilshad Garden and Ghaziabad, authorities said Thursday.
"We are providing all assistance to carry out the work speedily... We have assured DMRC that no hurdle would be allowed on their way in executing the project," said Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) official D.P. Singh.
"The DMRC asked us to provide a plot of land alongside the route alignment for casting yard where they can dump their castings to be utilized in the project. This we have allocated," said Ghaziabad Development Authority Vice chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav.
The GDA and DMRC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) June 17 to construct the extension of the Dilshad Garden Metro corridor to Ghaziabad.
DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh, at that time, assured that they would try to complete the project before the stipulated time of three years.
