Hamburg complete Lasogga's permanent move

Berlin, July 5 (IANS): German football club Hamburg Friday signed Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga until June 2019.

After a long back and forth Hamburg and Berlin finally agreed on a permanent move of Lasogga, following a successful loan spell with 13 goals in 20 matches, reports Xinhua.

"Pierre settled in after a short period and became a key player due to his crucial goals. I am pleased that we are able to sign him on long term," Hamburg coach Mirko Slomka said in an official statement.

"It is nice that my transfer is completed therefore my situation is resolved. I am pleased to stay at Hamburg," Lasogga said.

Hamburg nearly got relegated into second division for the first time in the club’s history last season.

However, they were able to secure their top-flight status thanks to Lasogga's away goal in the playoff match against second division side Greuther Fuerth.
