Puttur, Aug 1: Monday July 31 could be called as protest day.  Several protest meets were organized in the district against administrative failure of the state government.  Congress led the protest in Mangalore, Sullia, and Kundapur.

A similar protest meet was organized near Assistant Commissioner's office here.  Top Congress leaders and supporters participated in the rally and shouted slogans against the government.

Addressing the rally former state minister Krishnappa said that the present state government led by political novice H D Kumaraswamy has failed completely in good governance and administration.  "This is perhaps the first and the only government in the country whose cheque bounced.  On the other hand CM has been accused of taking Rs 150 crore from mine owners of Bellary.  This is clearly an inexperienced government," he said.

ZP president Mamatha Gatti, former minister Blasius D'Souza, former ZP president Sadanand Poonja, ZP member Anita Hemnath Shetty, block Congress president Hemnath Shetty were also present on the occasion.
