Udupi, Aug 1: Thousands of tailors under the aegis of Karnataka State Tailors Association (KSTA took to street seeking fulfillment of their demands on Tuesday August 1.
While a protest rally was held in the service bus stand, tailors blocked road near Hanuman Circle. More than 500 tailors were arrested by police while protesting near Hanuman Circle.
The protestors placed several demands before the government including that of establishing a welfare fund and taking immediate steps to register the names of tailors under the association.
Protestors also demanded the government to provide government land to construct Tailors Bhavan in every taluk.
