Houston, Aug 1: The World Headquarters of Toastmasters International has proudly proclaimed Max E. Rasquinha of Mangalore/Houston, Texas as the recipient of Presidential Citation for various meritorious contributions rendered towards the world of leadership. This is a prestigious recognition indeed that is conferred upon Max Rasquinha in Region III of Toastmasters International that comprises total nine Districts in the States of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Oklahoma, with more than 1,100 Toastmaster Clubs and more than 24,000 members.
Max Rasquinha has served as a Toastmaster for over 30 years in six countries. During his tenure of assignment as a District Governor of Houston, Texas, he led his District with nearly 150 clubs and more than 3,500 members to World Rank number seven. In addition to being an active Toastmaster, Max Rasquinha has continued to serve many other philanthropic Organizations such as Lions, Rotarians, Knights of Columbus and many other leading Chamber of Commerce groups in Texas, as well as United Nations Houston Chapter.
Ever since Max Rasquinha stepped down from his position as a District Governor of Houston, Texas, he has actively established Toastmasters leadership programs in several prisons of Texas where hundreds of men and women are now being benefited in developing leadership qualities so that they are fully reconciled from their past and get fully prepared for a “re-entry” program in the real world. “This is a most rewarding experience in life out of nearly 33 years of being associated as a Toastmaster,” proclaims Max Rasquinha.
Max will receive the Presidential citation in Washington DC on August 25, 2006 at the Hilton Washington Hotel during the Hall of Fame Pageant that will take place during the Annual Toastmasters International Convention. Last year at this time Max was inducted to the Hall of Fame as the Select Distinguished District Governor, in Toronto, Canada, in the presence of Jessica, his wife for 43 years.
