Argentina have poor record against Netherlands


Buenos Aires, July 7 (IANS): Argentina has a history of adverse results against the Netherlands, which it will face at the semi-final of the 2014 World Cup Wednesday.

Argentina defeated the Netherlands only in the final of the 1978 World Cup, 3-1 in Argentina and lost twice in their four meetings.

Argentina lost 4-0 in the second round of the 1974 World Cup in Germany, 2-1 in the quarter-final of the 1998 World Cup in France and in the 2006 edition in Germany, the teams drew 0-0 in the group stage.

Argentina and the Netherlands faced each other eight times internationally, with the Dutch recording four wins, three draws and one loss.
