Beltangady, Aug 3: Even as Chicken Gunya has been spreading in the state at a rapid pace, two cases of Rate Fever have been reported from in the taluk.  It is said that both the persons have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore for treatment.

The reports said that Janardhan Gowda (38) of Artitadi near Thotattadi and Shivappa Gowda (40) of Bandaru village are suffering from rat fever.  Though they have been admitted to KMC Hospital in Mangalore, the doctors of the hospital have only confirmed about the former being affected by rat fever. 

Even Shivappa Gowda has been carrying the symptoms of rat fever, but needs to undergo a few more tests to confirm it, said the doctors.

It is said that there are a few more persons who have been suffering from mysterious fever in the taluk.  Since they have not availed medical facility, it has not yet been established that they too are suffering from rat fever.
