Mohun Bagan rope in Cameroon's Boya

Kolkata, July 9 (IANS): I-League football club Mohun Bagan have roped in Cameroon's Pierre Boya as their marquee player for the 2014-15 season.

The 30-year-old striker has played four international matches for Cameroon between 2005-07 and plied his trade for various clubs in Asia, Europe and Australia. He will be the third foreign recruit for the club for the upcoming season.

Boya is currently playing for AFC Kukesi in the Albanian Superliga.

Earlier, he turned out for FK Partizan -- popularly known as Partizan Belgrad -- in the Serbian Superliga, and also in the 2004-05 UEFA Cup group stages where he scored a brace to clinch a 2-2 away draw against Italian club Lazio.

In 2007, Boya was transferred to FC Rapid Bucuresti, Romania. He returned for his second stint with FK Partizan in 2010 after the club qualified for the 2010-11 UEFA Champions League.

In 2012, Boya joined Danish Superliga side Randers FC and shifted to Kukesi during the 2013-14 season.

Japanese midfielder Katsumi Yusaand and Nigerian central defender Fatai Adisa Alao are the other foreigners in the Mohun Bagan squad.
