Udupi, Aug 4: Thieves who broke open into four shops in "Wil-Filma Complex" at Brahmavar have decamped with valuables and cash worth more than Rs 40,000 on Wednesday August 3 night.

Thieves said to entered into the complex from a house which is behind the complex.  They have first made into Priya Watch Works by slitting open the roof.  Thieves have stolen watches worth more than Rs 30,000. Along with that Rs 2,000 which was in the cash box too has been stolen.

Thereafter the thieves have entered the adjoining "Family Sweets and Bakery".  Speaking to Daijiworld Nelson Lewis (of "Mechwalam" Konkani album and Carol Beat Group fame) of Family Sweets told that the thieves have decamped with Rs 5,500 from the cash box.

Though the thieves have also entered one more shop and a clinic which are also in the same complex, they could not get anything.  However, they have ransacked the entire shop looking for cash or valuables.

It is suspected that the thieves might have entered the shops after 1 am in the midnight.

The total worth of the stolen valuables and cash is said to be more than Rs 40,000.  The Brahmavar police have registered a case in this regard.
