Ozil comforts Brazilian fans

Brasilia, July 10 (IANS/EFE): Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil sent his consolations to the Brazilian national team, which suffered a heavy 1-7 loss to Germany in the World Cup semifinal Tuesday.

Germany midfielder Ozil said through his Facebook account Wednesday: “You have a beautiful country, wonderful people and amazing footballers -- this match may not destroy your pride!”, reports Efe.

Ozil’s message was posted in five languages -- English, German, Portuguese, Turkish and Spanish -- with a photo of an old Brazilian fan holding a replica of the World Cup trophy.
