Asian Games: 17 foreign coaches train Kazakh athletes


Almaty (Kazakhstan), July 12 (IANS): Seventeen foreign coaches are training Kazakhstan athletes for the Second Summer Youth Olympic Games in China's Nanjing city and the 17th Asian Games in South Korea's Incheon city, a Kazakhstan sports official said.

Elsiyar Kanagatov, deputy chairman of the Agency for Sports and Physical Education of Kazakhstan, said after Friday's board meeting that 17 foreign coaches are working under contracts in the national teams of Kazakhstan representing judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, rowing and canoeing, water polo and weightlifting, reports Xinhua.

He stressed that there are no financing problems during the course of preparation for the two Games.

The Second Youth Olympic Games will be held in Nanjing from Aug 16 to 28 and they will involve more than 3,800 athletes competing in 28 sports. The 17th Asian Games will be held from Sep 19 to Oct 4 featuring 400-410 athletes in 39 sports.
