Mangalore, Aug 6: St Christopher Hostel, Mangalore celebrated its silver jubilee year at Rosario Cultural hall on Sunday, Aug 6.
Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore concelebrated the Solemn Mass at the Cathedral Church followed by a formal programme at the church hall.
Satyanarayana Rao, IGP, Western Range inaugurated the silver jubilee celebrations, while Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri released the silver jubilee souvenir.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Alva lauded the contributions made by Christian missionaries to the undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
The founder director of the association Msgr Fred V Pereira, founder secretary A J Fernandes, MLC Blasius M D’Souza, and past presidents, were honoured for their service.
Talented children of the members of the association were also awarded on the occasion.
Sushil Noronha, president, welcomed the gathering and Leslie Rego compered the event. Julian Dais proposed the vote of thanks.
