Bantwal, Aug 7: A pedestrian was knocked down to death by a Tata Sumo vehicle at Koorlipadi near Kalladka here on Sunday August 6 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Avvamma (55), a resident of Koila near Puttur. On Sunday she had come to visit one Thota Hasanabba's house near Kalladka. In the evening she was walking by the roadside on her way back home when a Tata Sumo speeding towards B C Road from Uppinangady knocked her down.
As a result, she sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital here. However, she succumbed to injuries late on Sunday night.
Bantwal town police have registered a case in this regard.
