Chennai, July 14 (IANS): The State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) is planning to set up industrial parks and create a land bank of 52,000 acres, the state assembly was told Monday.
Minister for Industries P. Thangamani said SIPCOT is planning to set up industrial parks along the Madurai-Tuticorin industrial corridor after completing the feasibility for Chennai-Sriperumbudur-Ranipet-Hosur, Madurai-Tuticorin and Coimbatore-Salem industrial highways.
According to him, SIPCOT is also creating a land bank of 52,000 acres so as to provide investors land for starting their ventures.
Thangamani said the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) is planning to set up an aero park, solar power park, integrated textile park, and a polymers park.
He said the proposed investors conference to be held this fiscal is expected to attract an investment of around one trillion rupees.
