Udupi, Aug 8: Former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake and former Kaup MLA Vasanth Salian joined the residents of Admar near Yermal here in protesting against gram panchayat decision to vacate hutments on Monday August 7.
Hundreds of people led by Salian and Sorake gathered in front of the Thenka gram panchayat office and shouted slogans against the panchayat president and members who have decided to shift nearly 80 huts from Admar area without planning rehabilitation to the inhabitants.
Kaup block Congress president Gangadhar Suvarna, youth Congress president Navin N Shetty, block general secretary Moidinabba, former taluk panchayat member Navinchandra Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
