Mangalore, Aug 8: Mayor K Ashraf along with commissioner Krishnappa Poojary, executive engineer B K Suresh Babu, and health officer Manjaiah Shetty, on Monday august 7, inspected a well near the railway station here, which was being affected by underground drainage water.

As a solution to the complaint in this regard, the commissioner suggested that a pipeline to prevent the water from entering the well, be laid at the spot.

The MCC panel has planned to bring the issue to the notice of the concerned engineer based at Kasaragod.

The mayor said that the problem will be solved after the UGD work under KUDCEMP which would commence in October.  Although the civic authorities are ready to solve the problem, it cannot proceed until the railways give a nod, since the land comes under the railways, he added.
