Bantwal, Aug 11: One person was killed on the spot after a recklessly driver mobike collided with a contract carriage bus at Okkettur near Vittal here on Thursday August 10.

The deceased has been identified as Supreet (17) alias Chuppi, son of the late Krishna Naik of Vittal.  He was a student of Sri Ram PU College of Kalladka.

He along with his friends Imtiaz and Jossie D'Souza was on his way back home after playing a football match at Okkettur.  All the three were coming on a Pulsar bike and Imtiaz was riding the bike.  As they reached Okkettur, Imtiaz tried to overtake a rickshaw despite seeing a private bus coming from the opposite direction.  His reckless driving ultimately resulted in collision.

As  a result Jossie and Supreet were both thrown on the road and sustained injuries while Imtiaz escaped miraculously.  Supreet however sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.  Jossie sustained too sustained injuries in the accident.

Vittal police have registered a case in this regard.
