Bantwal, Aug 13: A total assets and illicit liquor worth Rs.1.3 lac was seized by Bantwal Town Police in a well-planned raid busting an illegal arrack manufacturing unit.
The cops on Aug 12, led by Nagesh raided an isolated house located at Benjina Padavu of Kallige village Bantwal Taluk and seized one arrack vending machine and other equipments used for the manufacture of arrack sachets illegally.
The raid was conducted based on credible information of the operation of the illegal arrack manufacturing unit.
An arrack vending machine, 3 bundles of plastic roll, 15 empty cans, 6000 arrack sachets, a plastic drum, a sintex tank, electric motor and pipes were confiscated
.
However at the time of the raid there was no one in the house. In this connection a case has been taken up under the Karnataka Excise Act and further investigation is on.
