New Delhi, July 22 (IANS): Mercedes-Benz Tuesday launched the AMG version of its sedan CLA 45 powered by the four-cylinder series production engine.
The CLA 45 AMG priced at Rs.68.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) is the seventh AMG product available in the Indian market.
The AMG brand of the company provides for high-performance driven automobiles which are highly inspired from motor racing technology and use design snip-offs from the company's expertise in motorsports and engine development.
"The launch of CLA 45 AMG is inspired by the resounding success of our new generation compact cars in India. We have seen a rising demand among our growing young customer base for a stylish and high performance car which makes a strong personal style statement adding practicality of everyday use simultaneously," said Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India.
The vehicle is powered by a newly developed AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine with a maximum output of 265 kW and up to 450 Nm of torque are unmatched by any other mass-produced turbocharged four-cylinder engine worldwide.
The engine is coupled with a seven-speed sports transmission with seven gears.
The CLA 45 AMG can sprint from 0 to 100 km per hour in 4.6 seconds and have a top speed of 250 km per hour which is electronically limited.
The vehicle comes with a sports suspension and also boasts of other high-end safety features like bi-xenon headlamps, tyre pressure loss monitoring system and electronic stability program (ESP) including seven airbags.
