India developing Arjun Mark II tanks

New Delhi, July 25 (IANS): India is developing Arjun Mark II main battle tanks (MBTs) after manufacturing Arjun Mark I, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said Friday.

The minister told the Lok Sabha that the requirement for MBTs had been assessed and laid down in the Long Term Integrated Perspective Plan document for 2012-27.

He said T-90 tanks were manufactured indigenously by the Ordnance Factory Board under licensed production from the original equipment manufacturer.
