Mumbai, Aug 17: The heavy downpour on Tuesday Aug 15 night, disrupted the traditional ‘Govinda Dahi Handi’ (breaking of pots) on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashthami.
Various organizations, political and social leaders had installed the pots at various places all over the city, with prize to the tune of nearly Rs 50 lacs. The devotees could not manage to bag the bumper prize owing to the lashing rains.
However, the women, youth and children devotionally participated in the Dahi Handi in large numbers and were able to bag the minimum prize amount.
