Narayan Singh finishes 8th in men's hammer throw finals


Glasgow, July 30 (IANS): Indian athlete Chandrodaya Narayan Singh could only manage an eighth place finish in the men's hammer throw finals of the 2014 Commonwealth Games at the Hampden Park Stadium here.

Narayan Singh, who has a personal best throw of 69.38 metres, was much below par with a throw of 67.99 in the finals.

With a throw of 74.16 metres, Jim Steacy won the gold medal for Canada.

England's Nicholas Miller and Scotland's Mark Dry took home the silver and the bronze respectively.
