CWG: Indian shuttler Thulasi reaches women's singles last 16


Glasgow, July 30 (IANS): Indian shuttler P.C. Thulasi advanced to the last 16 of women's singles badminton event of the 2014 Commonwealth Games with a facile victory over Northern Ireland's Sinead Chambers at the Emirates Arena here Wednesday.

The 22-year-old from Kerala romped to a 21-10, 21-2 victory in just 24 minutes to advance to the next round.

Rising Indian star P.V. Sindhu will take to the court later in the day when she faces Sandra Le Grange of South Africa in her round-of-32 match.

Both the Indian players had received a bye in their round-of-64 matches.
