Panaji, Aug 19: Metamorphosis, in association with World Comics India, is organizing an exhibition on August 19 and 20in the Kala Academy Art Gallery, Panjim. Posters and booklets that convey a social message through the medium of comics will be exhibited over the two-day event. All the material has been created by students from Goa.

As part of the initiative undertaken by the United Nations Fund for Development of Women (UNIFEM), to combat human trafficking and to further the rights of women and children, a mass awareness campaign was launched.

Metamorphosis has been a part of this campaign in Goa. Says Anirban Dutta, Director, Metamorphosis, "Change can only be sustained when the young people of the community take an initiative. 'Goenkar Changemakers' is a step towards that direction. This is a group of extremely dedicated and bright young people who are going to make a difference in Goa.

As part of a social mobilization drive under this crusade, students from Salgaonkar Law College, DMC, Rosary College and Xavier's College were trained on social communication. During this training they developed posters and booklets that conveyed a strong social message using comics.

The training was jointly conducted by resource people from Metamorphosis and World Comics India.
