INLD promises loan waiver, two-wheelers for college-going girls

Chandigarh, Aug 2 (IANS): The INLD Saturday released its manifesto for the Haryana assembly election, promising to waive off loans of up to Rs.2 lakh and offering two-wheelers to college-going girls.

The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) is the first political party in the state to announce the names of its candidates for 62 assembly seats.

Releasing the manifesto here, leaders Abhay Singh Chautala and Ashok Arora said the party is all set to form the next government in the state.

The loan waiver of up to Rs.2 lakh is for various categories like farmers, labourers, backward classes and scheduled castes.

Besides, there are provisions of houses to all poor people in the state, increasing old age pension to Rs.1,200 per month, 25 kg foodgrains to poor families and allowance to unemployed youth.

The state is scheduled to go to polls October this year. However, the Election Commission could opt for early balloting as the festival season is spread over most of October.

The main contest is between the ruling Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party-Haryana Janhit Congress (BJP-HJC) alliance and the INLD. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced it will not contest the election.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, the BJP won seven seats while the INLD got two seats and the Congress managed to secure one seat. All candidates of AAP lost their security deposits.
