Indian leaders will keep visiting Nepal: Modi

Kathmandu, Aug 3 (IANS): Admitting it was a mistake that no Indian prime minister visited Nepal for 17 long years, Narendra Modi promised Sunday that "this will not happen again".

"We are so close. Yet it took 17 years to come," Modi told Nepal's parliament in Hindi. Modi is the first Indian prime minister to make a bilateral visit to Nepal in 17 years.

"I assure you this will not happen again," he added, triggering applause in the house.

Modi also said that he would be visiting Nepal again this year to attend the SAARC Summit.
