Hot, humid Sunday in Delhi, rains likely Monday


New Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS): The week ended on a hot and humid note for the national capital as Sunday's maximum temperature settled three notches above the season's average at 36.6 degrees Celsius while the humidity level was above 90 percent. The Met office has forecast rains Monday.

"The sky will remain partly cloudy tomorrow (Monday) and parts of the city will get rain and thunderstorms," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

Monday's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 35 and 27 degrees Celsius.

Sunday morning was sunny and the minimum temperature settled at 27 degrees Celsius - average for this time of the season.

The maximum humidity was recorded at 91 percent while the minimum was 57 percent.

Saturday's maximum temperature was recorded at 35.3 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the minimum was 28.1 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
