Kuwait, Aug 6: Thanks to the generosity and perseverance of Tulukoota Kuwait, many poor children have now availed various benefits covering expenses while pursuing their education. Tulukoota Kuwait, under their programme, 'Project Education,' distributed uniforms and umbrellas to children of various schools in Mangalore and Udupi districts in Karnataka, India.
Children of T A Pai Modern Higher Primary School, Kadabettu, received uniforms and umbrellas on July 19 after a brief function at the school premises. President of the Koota, Tharendra P Shettigar presided over the function and handed over the uniforms and umbrellas to the students. He also handed over a cheque for INR 75,000 to the school. Shettigar, in his speech, briefly described the social welfare programme of the association and also advised the people to utilize the opportunity given by Tulukoota. He stressed the importance of education and encouraged the children to become great citizens of the nation by dedication and hard work.
Vice president Harish Bhandary, cultural secretary Suresh Salian, Udupi Nagarika Hitharakshana Vedhike president Nithyananda Valakadu and many old students of the school were present for the function. The school’s managing trustee H R Shenoy welcomed the gathering while an old student, Narayana Bhandary was the master of ceremony.
On July 24, Tulukoota Kuwait, again, under their programme 'Project Education' distributed uniforms to the children of Amrutheshwara Higher Primary school in Vamanjoor, under Janu Shetty Memorial Education and Charitable Trust, at the school premises.
The function was presided by Shettigar, who handed over the uniforms to the students along with a cheque for INR 95,000 to the treasurer of the school, Jayaram Shetty. Shettigar briefly addressed the audience. Amrutheshwara temple’s Managing Trustee, Chandrahas Rai, Tulu drama famed Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, former Tulukoota president Elias Sanctis, Tulukoota vice president Harish Bhandary, cultural secretary Suresh Salian, Alwyn D’souza and the school trustee members were present at the function. Sharath Shetty was the master of ceremony.
Tulukoota Kuwait, on July 26 under the same programme distributed uniforms to the children of Christaraj Navachethana Special School, Venur, at the school premises.
President, Shettigar presided over the function and handed over the uniforms to the students. Shettigar, in his speech, praised the hard work of teachers and wished them all the success.
Vice president Harish Bhandary, cultural secretary Suresh Salian, Rekha Shettigar, lions club president Dayanand Bhandary and Karthik Residency’s Vasudhar Bangera were present at the function.
