Bangalore, Aug 6 (IANS): Global software major Microsoft Wednesday announced that its range of Xbox video game consoles would be available for sale from Sep 1 on the world's largest etail platform Amazon.in.
"Our interactive entertainment devices such as Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox Live, Xbox game titles and Xbox accessories will be available in India exclusively on Amazon.in beginning Sep 1," Microsoft India country general manager Chakrapani Gollapali said in a statement here.
The Xbox brand includes a series of video game consoles, applications and streaming services.
The exclusive retain partnership enables Indian consumers to place order online for Xbox One from Wednesday.
"As a part of our consumer strategy, we see huge opportunity in delivering our products and services online to the growing digital audience. Our collaboration with Amazon gives a platform to build scale for the gaming and entertainment segment in India," Gollapali said on the occasion.
The company plans to develop local content to give Indian consumers the best gaming and entertainment experience.
"We will also bring the world's most-loved gaming products to Indian consumers through Amazon's online store," Gollapali added.
Consumers pre-ordering Xbox One device will get the blockbuster game FIFA 15 for free and the Kinect bundle will have an additional free game of Dance Central Spotlight.
"The first 1,000 consumers will also get special offers worth Rs.10,000, including Rs.3,000 off on purchase of a second Xbox One controller, gift cards worth Rs.1,500 and two free Blu-ray movies worth Rs.2,500," Amazon India director Samir Kumar said in the statement.
Priced at Rs.39,990, Xbox One will also be available offline through retail channels from September 23.
The Kinect version will offer games and entertainment to Xbox, including gesture controls, biometric sign-in and Skype video calls.
"This partnership with Microsoft gives us an opportunity to forge deeper engagement with gaming enthusiasts across the country and offer consumers the widest selection at low prices, quick delivery and a trustworthy shopping experience," Kumar noted.
