Beniwal sacked, Duggal new Mizoram Governor

New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS): The Narendra Modi government Wednesday sacked Kamla Beniwal as Mizoram's governor, an official statement said.

Former union home secretary Vinod Kumar Duggal, who is the governor of Manipur, will hold the additional charge of Mizoram.

The 87-year-old Beniwal, who had a strained relationship with Modi when he was chief minister of Gujarat and she its governor, is the second governor to be removed from her post by the National Democratic Alliance government.

Puducherry Governor Virendra Kataria was sacked July 12.

A Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said: "The president has directed that Kamla Beniwal shall cease to hold the office of the governor of Mizoram."

It said Duggal will discharge the functions of the governor of Mizoram, in addition to his own duties, until further orders.

Beniwal, who was shifted to Mizoram July 6, was among the host of Congress leaders who were either transferred or asked to quit by the Modi government.

Among those who resigned after the government's signals were B.L. Joshi (Uttar Pradesh), M.K. Narayanan (West Bengal), Shekhar Dutt (Chhattisgarh), Ashwani Kumar (Nagaland), and B.V. Wanchoo (Goa)

The NDA government got very good majority in the name of Mr.Modi and of course they deserve that also.

They can sack Sheila Dixit as she is facing corruption charge and has no right to be in that position.

But Kamla Beniwal is not facing any corruption charge. But it is very clear that her termination is based on political vendetta.
She took bold step in appointing Lokayukta when the government was not ready to do that.

We hope this government will give open and visible governance, underpinned by a commitment to operating ethically and transparently wherever possible.

Govt Sacked if she feel it is unconstitutional she has right to approch Higher court but i doubt she move in that direction.
She spent Rs. 8.5 crore on frequent air travel at taxpayers expense..
Beniwal alleged involvement in a land scam four years ago in Rajasthan. She is accused of claiming plots of land after stating in false affidavits that she had tilled the land for 14 to 16 hours a day for 50 years, even when she was a minister in the state's Congress government.

If there is any options to recover Rs 20 crore that she/her family members spent on her visits to Jaipur, it should be considered.

I am surprised Modi took so long to sack this congress Mole. All congress Moles, spies and bugs should be removed from Important positions ASAP. Also those congis out of power in Delhi but still living in Govt Bunglows and retaining other Govt facilities should be made paid for all the excess they utilized. Or debit it from Congress's party fund. We have to Disinfect the Congress all over the country.

These two want to become governors.
While not giving them ministry, 75 age was just an alibi. Modi will never appoint them as governors, because, like this Beniwal, for Modi "amse koyi takareyega, mitti se miljayega". Any way, each dog has it's day.
