Mangalore, Aug 25: Roads in the district are hitting news headlines these days for all wrong reasons.  The pathetic state of roads in and around the city has given ample chance for almost every organization to stage protest.  While some of them have taken up the cause genuinely, some others are trying to use the situation to meet their own ends.  Almost all political parties have staged protest in the last one month.

A similar protest rally was organized by Samajwadi Party in front of the deputy commissioner's office on Friday August 25 morning.

Speaking on the occasion SP vice-president Mohan Raju said that travelling on the district road has almost become impossible.  "Despite so many protests and agitations, nothing concrete has been done.  It seems that there is no one to take responsibility for this state of affair," he added.  The protestors said that they would put pressure on the administration through state president S Bangarappa.

Party secretary S P Chengappa, Abubakkar Lucky Star, Raju and others were present during rally.  An appeal was later submitted to the deputy commissioner.
