Mangalore, Aug 25: The Suratkal police sources said that a bitumen contractor has cheated Rs 62 lac using forgery documents and signatures between December 5, 2005 to March 31, 2006.

MRPL manager Santhosh Kumar Kadri has filed a case with the Suratkal police in this regard.  He has stated that the drivers and owners of KA 21 1764, KA 02 A 1001, KA 19 AC 8235, KA 19 B 2352, KA 05 A 5272, KA 19 B 2995 and KA 12 6036 lorries along with bitumen brokers and contractor have cheated MRPL with the help of forged documents.  He has also stated that even the BDAFCU staff too have involved in the conspiracy.

It is said that a total of 2,100 bitumen drums have been transferred illegally from the bitumen yard of the MRPL

Suratkal police inspector Jagannath has initiated investigation in the case.
