Mysore, Aug 25: In future, students need not worry about mentioning their caste and father's name while filling application forms.

In the backdrop of 20 students being denied transfer certificates in one of the Mysore schools for not mentioning their castes, the Government has taken this decision much to the relief of the students and parents, who dislike mentioning their caste.

This was disclosed by Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj Horatti to media persons here on Wednesday.

Students should not be denied admission for not mentioning their caste or father's name. They can mention as 'General' in the column of caste and mention only their mother's name, the Minister added.
