Udupi, Aug 26: Even though the prime accused in the Hai Maruta editor Hitendra Prasad’s murder, Pitti Nagesh is still at large, the four assailants who were nabbed by DCIB and Manipal police team on Thursday August 24 have now been remanded to judicial custody.
Salim (25), son of Ahmad Bawa, a resident of Manchikere, Alevoor Road, near here, Dinesh alias Mimmi (28), son of Thammu Sherigaar of Indiranagar, Ramesh alias Atte Ramesha (28), son of Gopal Poojari of Kolalagiri and Manikantha alias Sanjeeva (23), son of Narayana of Karamballi near Kunjibettu were apprehended by at Indrali railway station while trying to escape to Mumbai on Thursday.
They were produced before the court which in turn remanded them to judicial custody till September 7.
Meanwhile Rohit Kumar Kateel, Bhavani Shankar Karkala and Sunil Shetty who had earlier been taken into police custody for investigation were released on bail on Thursday, said SP Dr A Subrahmaneshwar Rao.
