Puttur, Aug 26: A latex store room was charred owing to sudden fire at Koppamaderi near Nelyadi here on Thursday August 24 night.

The godown was owned by one M T John and was used for drying latex.  On Thursday night sudden fire erupted in the godown as a result of which 350 latex sheets and scrap which was stored in the godown was charred.  Even the sheets spread over the roof too have been burnt.

Though the exact reason for the fire tragedy is not known, it is said that short circuit might have resulted in sudden fire.  A complaint has been filed with the rubber board in this regard.

Taluk panchayat member Sarvottam Gowda, gram panchayat president Keshav Gowda, P Joy and others visited the place on Friday.
