Bantwal, Aug 27: The District Crime Investigation Bureau sleuths are on a war-footing to curb crimes in cyber centres and video game centres. Following the last weeks raid on several cyber centres which led to the arrest of six persons, DCIB cops on Aug 26 conducted raids on a video game centre in Bantwal.
Led by DCIB Inspector K Tilakchandra, the team raided a video game centre at Badakatte in Bantwal taluk. A total of eight persons were arrested as they were found guilty of gambling and Rs 5,775 and goods was recovered from them.
The illegal video game centre operating in the Friends Recreation Association building here was raided based on credible information.
Jagannat Shetty (40) of Modankap, Bantwal is one among the arrested.
The ceased video game equipment is worth 50,000.
