Iran's midfielder banned for 3 months for pushing referee


Tehran, Aug 11 (IANS): Iran's Persepolis midfielder Payam Sadeghian has been suspended from the football club's matches for three months for having pushed a referee in the Iran Professional League.

Sadeghian pushed the referee after receiving a red card for complaining in the 0-2 loss against Foolad Thursday, reports Xinhua.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Iranian Football Federation also fined him about $1,600.

Earlier, Persepolis had fined Sadeghian 10 percent of his annual salary.
