Sultry day in Delhi, rain likely Tuesday


New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS): It was a muggy Monday in the capital, with the humidity wavering between a high of 92 and a low of 57 percent. The Met Office has forecast rain Tuesday.

"The skies will remain generally cloudy Tuesday with rain/thundershowers in some parts of the city," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The day's maximum temperature was recorded three notches above average at 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled a notch below average at 25 degrees Celsius.

There were traces of rain in some parts of the city.

Tuesday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 35 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Sunday's maximum temperature was recorded a notch below the season's average at 32.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 27.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above average.
